Frequently asked questions

How do I book catering?

Pick a package, then fill in the form: the date, how many guests, the location. You are sending a request, not an order — nothing is charged and the date is not held until we confirm we are available. You get an email at every step, with a link to follow your file at any time.

How far ahead should I book?

At least 2 days before the event. For a wedding or a large reception, write to us several weeks ahead: summer Saturdays go early. Shorter than that, write anyway — we will see what can be done.

How does payment work?

A deposit of 30 % of the total confirms the date; the balance is paid on the day of the event. We accept Interac e-transfer, cash and cheque. No card payment goes through this site, and we never see a card number.

Do you travel to the venue?

Yes. We come to your event's location, in Montreal and the surrounding area. Give us the address in your request. If you are further out, tell us anyway and we will look at it together.

How many people do you cook for?

Each package shows its minimum number of guests on its own page. For a different number, or for something that is not in the list, write to us: we also cook to order.

What kind of food do you make?

African cooking, West African and Senegalese in spirit: thieboudienne, yassa, mafé, canapés and finger food. And mocktails — alcohol-free cocktails, which are our signature.

What about allergies and dietary restrictions?

Tell us when you send your request, and tell us again if it changes. We cook in a kitchen where peanuts, tree nuts, fish, shellfish, eggs, milk, soy, wheat and sesame are handled, among others: we cannot guarantee the complete absence of traces. Anyone with a severe allergy should take that into account.

Can I cancel?

A masterclass can be cancelled free of charge up to 7 days before the session. After that, the deposit is kept. If we are the ones cancelling, you are refunded in full. For a catering event, write to us as soon as you know: once bought, ingredients cannot be returned. We discuss it case by case and tell you plainly where we stand.

What happens at a masterclass?

A date, a place, and a limited number of seats — shown on the class page, and counting down live. You cook with your own hands. At the end you leave with a certificate of attendance carrying a code: anyone can verify it on this site.
